South Haven

4.1.5 South-HavenHistory of South Haven:

Developed in the 1830s, South Haven provided lumber and steamship boats to Chicago, Milwaukee and other Lake Michigan ports. After all available lumber was cleared from the area, fruit growers quickly populated the countryside and played a major role in developing Michigan's fruit belt. The 1920s and 1930s brought great commercial development, which attracted vacationers and beach-goers alike.

South Haven Today:

Known as the World's Blueberry Capital, South Haven is the perfect family getaway for a week at the beach and around town. With beautiful sunsets and plenty to do—you will be coming back for years.
