Recent Douglas vacation rental reviews

We arrived on Friday greeted by gorgeous views of the Marina. The place was very clean with a spacious kitchen, living area, dining room, and walkout porch. The location is perfect, you are 5-10 minutes away from everything you would need. Douglas/Saugatuck have cute towns with great shops. You're also only 20 minutes from Holland, which is another beautiful town. We would highly recommend staying here, and plan on again.

The condo was pleasant, great for a quiet solo weekend with a nice view of the water and night lights. A quick drive to so many delightful dinner and shop options.

Things to do in Douglas, MI

Perhaps the best way to experience Douglas is by just getting out and exploring on foot. The cute downtown area is filled with eateries, antiques, and more. Don’t forget the arts scene that Douglas is so famed for—peruse the many galleries or hop over to the Saugatuck Center for the Arts to catch special events, film screenings, and exhibits.

For an aerial view of the quaint streets, harbors, and shoreline, head to Mt. Baldhead. This one-mile trail is great for a run or just to stroll and enjoy the almost 360-degree views of the surrounding town. You can even take a hand-pulled chain ferry to reach the trailhead, before climbing the stairs and ending at Oval Beach, which was voted one of the 25 best shorelines by Condé Nast Traveler.

When it’s time to experience the local food scene, you’ll find something to satisfy any craving. Start the morning off with breakfast—and maybe a mimosa or two—on the porch of the homey Pumpernickels restaurant. Grab Appalachian-inspired bites in the cute interior of the Southerner or make a dinner reservation at the chic Grow restaurant, complete with waterfront views.
