See Below For Answers To Lakeshore Lodging Vacations Frequently Asked Questions

Once I reserve, what are the payment terms?
50% of the gross lodging fee (rental price before taxes and fees) is due to our office within 5 business days to secure the reservation. The remaining 50% of the gross lodging fee, in addition to all taxes, fees and security deposit, is due to our office 30 days prior to your arrival.

Can my dog vacation with me?
Yes! Many of our vacation homes are pet-friendly. Please see the property-specific information for your selected vacation home to see if your puppy is allowed to stay with you. An additional pet fee of $20 per night will be added to your reservation if you choose to take your dog. **Please note that all dogs MUST be approved by a vacation planner with a pet form filled out prior to your arrival.

When are check in and check out times for Lakeshore Lodging vacations?
Check in time is 4:00pm on the day of your arrival, and 10:00am on the day of your departure. If you wish to arrive earlier and/or depart later, please see our Additional Services page to add them to your reservation.

What is included in the additional ‘Taxes and Fees’ charge?
State law requires a 6% Michigan Sales tax and a local tax of 2%. A 5% processing fee is added to the reservation as well, resulting in a ‘Taxes and Fees’ charge of 13%.

Will I be charged a cleaning fee for my stay?
No. The cleaning fee has already been incorporated into the rental cost. Your vacation home will be cleaned prior to your stay and after you depart at no additional cost to you.

Do you offer Traveler’s Insurance?
We do not offer traveler’s insurance. Please speak to your individual insurance provider if you are interested in this service.

Are accidental damages covered? 

Each reservation has a $250 ‘Peace of Mind’ policy incorporated into it. Accidental damages will be assessed on a case-by-case basis. If accidental damages do occur during your stay, call a vacation planner in the office to receive a ‘Peace of Mind’ form. **Accidental damages NEED to be reported during your stay. Failure to report accidental damages during your stay will result in additional charges.

What are the different ways I can make a reservation?
You can reserve a vacation home with Lakeshore Lodging two different ways. Call us in the office toll-free at 1-800-908-8491 during normal business hours, OR reserve a vacation home online 24 hours a day at lakeshorelodging.com.
**Each online reservation needs to be authenticated by a Vacation Planner before it is confirmed.

What if I have to cancel my reservation?
Please call a vacation planner immediately if you are unable to vacation with us for any reason. We will try our best at Lakeshore Lodging to re-reserve the property on your behalf. If we are able to re-rent your property for your reserved dates, you will receive a full refund, less a $150 cancellation fee. However, if we are unable to re-rent the property for your cancelled dates, you will be responsible for the entire rental amount and a refund will not be issued. Refunds will not be issued for inclement weather, or for any other circumstances beyond the control of Lakeshore Lodging, including any noise or disturbance caused by outside parties.

Can I rent for less than a week?
Yes! Several of our homes rent for less than a week during the summer season. The property information for each home will tell you if it is a weekly rental or nightly rental (3 night minimum) for the summer season.

Can you send me directions to the property?
Directions to properties can be made available to all confirmed guests by calling a Vacation Planner in the office. Directions to our office can be found Here 

Can I have my wedding or special event at one of your homes?
Unfortunately, no. Our vacation homes are not set up for large events and the occupancy rate of the home is never to be exceeded at any time.

Is my Security Deposit refundable?
Yes, you will receive a full refund (aside from any damages assessed upon your departure) 2-4 weeks after your date of departure. If you choose, you may transfer your security deposit as a down payment for a future stay with us.
